Charlene Edwards received her B.A. Cum Laude from Campbell University and her J.D. from The Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. She is licensed in State Court in North Carolina and in Federal Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. Charlene is a certified mediator for family/domestic law cases and served as the child support attorney for the Harnett County Clerk of Court from 1994 until December 2006.
While in law school, Charlene was awarded the Am Jur Book Awards in Advanced Criminal Procedure, Law Office Management, and Advanced Jurisprudence. She was selected as a Member of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Since beginning her practice, she has been selected as a Member in the 11th and 12th edition of Who's Who in American Law. Charlene has received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Campbell University Department of Government, History and Justice and an award for her Pro Bono work from East Carolina Legal Services.
Charlene began her career in private practice in 1993 and opened her own firm in 1999. From 1994 through 2000 she was the Director of the Mock Trials Program at Campbell University in the Department of Government, History and Justice where she took her award winning trial teams to many trial competitions and two national competitions.
Her primary areas of concentration are family/domestic law, personal injury, worker's compensation, social security disability, criminal felony cases, and juvenile law.
Charlene is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Eleventh Judicial District Bar Association and the Harnett County Bar Association where she has served as Secretary since 2009. She is Chair of the Eleventh Judicial District Domestic Rules Committee. She was a charter member of the Family Preservation Law Center and was elected as a member of their board of directors in October 2006. She is a current board member of the Lillington Area Chamber of Commerce where she serves as President-Elect for 2011. She is also a member of the Lillington Kiwanis Club and of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Fuqay-Varina where she serves as a lector.
